From wildlife and land management to healthcare and equalizing property assessments, these groups provide advice on policies and allocation of funds to county departments and the Board of Stevens County Commissioners.

Assessor's Open Space Advisory Committee Open Position

Role of the Committee: Serves in an advisory capacity to the Stevens County Assessor in implementing guidelines for the assessment of open space, farms and agricultural lands.

Role of the Committee: Responsible for hearing appeals of assessed value on real and personal property in Stevens County.

CASA Advisory Board

Role of the Committee: The purpose of the Advisory Board is to enhance the existing services to abused and neglected children assigned to CASA.

Role of the Committee: To advise and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners relating to community developmental disabilities services. The board also provides community leadership on improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of community developmental disabilities programs.

Role of the Committee: The purpose of the committee is to develop a plan to improve the accessibility of elections for voters with disabilities. The committee must include members of diverse disabilities.
Water Conservancy Board Open Position

Number of Members: 5 member board with 2 alternate positions. All board commissioners must receive training from Ecology before participating in any decision on a water-right transfer application.
Role of the Committee: Created by the Legislature in 1997 to enable the processing of water-right transfer and change applications at the local level. All water conservancy board decisions are ultimately reviewed and affirmed, reversed, or modified by the Department of Ecology. Minumum Training Requirement: 32 hrs initial training and 8 hrs per year continuing education

WRIA 59 Water Resource Management Board (WRIA 50 Board)

Number of Members: The current number of members is approximately 20. The members are made up of local citizen volunteers, businesses, agriculture, and local, state, and federal government representatives and tribal representatives.
Role of the Committee: The WRIA 59 Board was initially formed in 1999, under the RCW 90.82 Watershed Planning Act, to research and develop a WRIA 59 Watershed Plan and WRIA 59 Detailed Implementation Plan. Both plans have been adopted by the Stevens County Commissioners, and the WRIA 59 Board continue to work forward on implementation of the water resource actions outlined in the plans.
